Center (Front Court Position)
Often called the 'five', the center usually plays at the bottom of the key, also called the post. The center is the strongest player on the team and is able to maneuver down low in the paint to do most of their scoring. The center is used a lot of times for pick and roll plays which involve himself and the point guard. Just because centers are often the biggest people on the court does not mean they are less skilled in any way. Taking the ball strong to the basket is a key to winning and instilling fear into opponents. If your team has a strong center, you end up getting most of the rebounds which turn into points no matter if they were offensive rebounds or defensive.source: wikipedia.orgGNU Free Documentation License
